Studies since the 1980s have shown that social anxiety may be caused by an attentional bias toward social threat cues.
More recently (2010-) a number of researchers have tried forms of attentional bias modification as an anxiety treatment. Unlike some other areas, results in treating general and social anxiety have generally been robust in many studies.
This is really interesting! It seems like there is a way to treat social anxiety inexpensively and easily! The treatments are typically 10-20 minutes a day, twice a week.
Now, what happens if you replace the image stimuli for a social anxiety treatment and use only images of really attractive women?
It hasnt been studied scientifically yet, but we wanted to find out, so thats why we created this app, essentially a cognitive bias modification program except with a data set composed exclusively of attractive women. Lets find out what happens!
